Located on the former Avenue of República, next to the cathedral, the post office building is a work of transition to the architecture of the Estado Novo, with a tiled roof, axis of symmetry in the composition and triple loggia and modern lines (with horizontal fascias on the façade). The project was designed by Lucínio Cruz in 1950.
