Equipment and Infrastructures
The following buildings are worthy of mention: the Central Market of Bissau, inaugurated in 1925 and renovated in 1948; the Customs House, which stands in the heart of the city: edges a long horizontal body with a modern cylindrical tower, in concrete and glass; the Bissau Stadium with work commissioned in 1947 and inaugurated on 10.06.1948; and the Honório Barreto High School, created in 1958 and built in 1959 following a project by Eurico Pinto Lopes. Also noteworthy are: the Guinea Meteorological Station, designed by Lucínio Cruz in 1952; the UBID Cinema and the Sport Lisboa e Bissau building of 1955.
