The chapel of Saint Roch is situated on the Rua Direita ao Forte, midway between the Cathedral and Saint Philip’s Fortress and consisted of a nave with sacristy adjoining the chancel. Probably built in the 16th century, it was eventually disfigured by successive interventions. From 1967 to 1972 it benefited from restoration work.
