Fronting the alley lane named in the 1960s-1970s Avenue Almirante Gago Coutinho, a central point of the city in the mid-twentieth century, the cathedral displays a neo-traditional style of medieval inspiration visible in the lancet arch at the entrance. The façade is dominated by a Latin cross surmounted by a straight pediment; the side tower, topped by an ogival belfry has a pyramid-shape spire finishing.
