Dating from the 1920s, these ensembles formed modulated and repetitive clusters of small, single-storey houses with roofed verandas and hipped roofs with projecting eaves; the employees houses, of a higher social status, followed the current models of the standard “Portuguese House” – with porches, eaves, hipped roof and small pediments with a decorative element on the façade.
