Religious Architecture

The religious architecture of Bailundo is noticeable by the numerous buildings of the Protestant and Catholic missions which introduced a general educational ambiance. Among them the sisters of Saint Joseph of Cluny is of the utmost importance, with a single-floor pavilion-like structure of a simple design suited to local conditions. The mission church is a notable building with a flat front and two lateral towers with pinnacles topped by a spire. The complex suggests a simplified neoclassical decoration.
