A modern work with an innovative expression by Conceição Silva and audacious ceramics by Querubim Lapa on the façade at the ground level surrounding the wide windows, the building dates from 1955. It was the city’s first modern commercial construction with a cosmopolitan feel of the 1950s by the best architect (from Lisbon) for this type of building. Its present state is unknown.
